We’re pleased to announce the imminent release of our first collection of stories, poems, and essays by Scottish writers – SF Caledonia Anthology One. Publication Date: 13th March 2025.
SF Caledonia Anthology One is the first print gathering of pieces published – or will be published on the website, and is already showing the range. Who knew that John Buchan, he of The Thirty-Nine Steps and Governer General of Canada wrote a scifi short story? Also too, Lewis Grassic Gibbon, writing under his real name of James Leslie Mitchell. And wait ’til you find out who wrote the very first Scottish science fiction novella, published in 1817, yes, the year before Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein was published. There must have been something in the air in the early 19th century.
This collection features a number of Scottish writers we have published in the award-winning Shoreline of Infinity Science Fiction Magazine, some of whom we have enjoyed helping to nurture on their way. We also include winning stories from the Cymera/Shoreline of Infinity short story competition 2024.
